Ministry of Justice Organizes A Workshop On CyberCrime
Abu Dhabi, WAM:
The UAE was one of the world's first countries that stressed the importance of
establishing specialized judicial courts for cyber crimes, Dr. Hadef Al Dhahiri,
Minister of Justice, affirmed yesterday.
''The modern age is witnessing accelerating developments in
the knowledge and
telecommunication revolution, creating some trans-international crimes,'' the minister said on the sidelines of a two-day workshop on the cyber crime''
which was organized by Ministry of Justice in Abu Dhabi.
He added the UAE leading position in applications of telecommunications and
computer networks and its advanced ranking worldwide in internet penetration had
made it necessary for members of the judiciary to be fully aware of the
international law and legislations which incriminate the harmful use of this
technology against societies and individuals.
The workshop was attended by members of the judiciary in the UAE and a group of
experts from the US and EU.
Participants presented papers on challenges of evidence of e-crime,
investigation on cyber crimes, police's mechanisms in monitoring, tracing,
detecting and preventing these crimes.
