establishes Fishermen Establishment

RAS AL KHAIMAH: His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council
Member and Ruler of Ras al Khaimah, has issued decree No. 12 for 2013
establishing the Ras Al Khaimah Fishermen Establishment as a new department of
the Government of Ras Al Khaimah.
The decree is with immediate effect and stipulates that the Ras Al Khaimah
Fishermen Establishment will be a corporate entity and will have as much
financial and administrative independence as needed to reach its goals.
The decree says the new establishment will be run by a board of directors of at
least five members over a two-year term, renewable, that will be named later by
the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah or his deputy.
The decree also says the new establishment is aimed at developing and organising
the Emirate’s fishing sector, raising awareness of the need to preserve its fish
resources and nature, meeting the needs of fishermen, providing services for
fishing, improving annual production as well as working on meeting international
health and safety standards.
The decree asks all authorities and bodies to deal and coordinate with the Ras
Al Khaimah Fishermen Establishment to enable it to achieve its goals.
