KSrelief and World Food Programme sign $5m agreement to deliver food aid to Gaza

Saudi Arabia: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief has signed a $5 million agreement with the World Food Programme to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The assistance provided by the initiative, in the form of ready-to-eat meals, is expected to benefit 377,855 displaced Palestinians, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The deal was signed by Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, an adviser at the Saudi Royal Court and supervisor general of KSrelief, and the WFP’s executive director, Cindy McCain.

Following the start of Israel’s war on Gaza, authorities in Saudi Arabia launched a fundraising campaign through the national Sahem platform to help support Palestinians.

The Kingdom has organized 44 flights that delivered more than 800 tonnes of aid, including medical supplies, food and materials for shelters, as well as six relief ships packed with almost 5,000 tonnes of similar relief supplies. In addition, it has provided 20 fully-equipped ambulances.

KSrelief has signed five agreements, worth a total of $80 million, with international organizations to help and support Palestinians in Gaza.
